Why We Built AODC
The moment of clarity came while watching a senior developer use Claude Code. Despite having one of the most powerful AI coding tools ever created, he was using it as a sophisticated autocomplete, asking it to write functions one at a time, reviewing each line, then asking for the next piece.
He was driving a Ferrari in first gear.
This pattern repeated across every team we observed. Brilliant engineers, talented designers, experienced QA professionals, all treating AI agents as assistants rather than autonomous workers. The tools had evolved. The methodology hadn't.
We asked a simple question: What if we redesigned the entire development process around what AI agents can actually do?
The answer became AODC.
What Makes AODC Different
Traditional Agile was designed when human cognitive capacity was the constraint. Sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives optimized human coordination. But AI coding agents changed the equation fundamentally.
